From fetal beginnings to upright walking, each movement milestone achievement builds upon the next. In this seminar we explore the normal development of human movement from the supine and prone basics to the more challenging postures and transitional movements of childhood including rolling, sitting, crawling, cruising and eventually walking unaided. You will learn what is normal, how to identify the child who is struggling and how to assist and correct them through these stages for the best possible outcomes.
This seminar covers:
Please bring along a doll. Ideally there should be some flex in the doll, so not fully plastic as it would be better if there is some neck and back movement. If you don’t have a doll, a teddy or something similar will do fine. We will be doing a lot of stretching and moving on the floor. You may want to bring a yoga mat for your comfort.
