Anastacia’s Retreat: Enhancing Yourself and Your Practice
April 30 – May 3, 2026, Edinburgh
This for you.
Throughout the 4-day retreat, we’ll explore the Use of Self – how you use your own nervous system and nonverbal communication to create a safe and supportive environment full of the energy of possibilities. Use your grounded and centred presence to connect with your clients’ highest and best potential.
In this retreat, through daily bodymind self-check ins, you’ll learn to experience deeper connection with self and others. You’ll take these bodymind skills with you after experiencing the benefits, so you can use them to return to yourself whenever needed. You can apply these skills with your clients to help them participate more in their healing, deepen their self-awareness and access available energy.
You’ll learn how to use your own body and energy to gain personal congruence, and also develop new ways of assessing and interacting with clients to maximize their healing.
Using the Satir Personal Iceberg metaphor, explore the components of your inner world. Have a template with which to help you understand your clients and put their concerns in context. Learn to guide your clients’ self-awareness in your interactions and leverage their inner resources, opening up new possibilities.
Who is your lead facilitator/teacher?
Meet Anastacia Metcalf-Lundholm
Anastacia Lundholm delivers experiential online courses and in-person practicums to professionals and laypeople to enhance their ability to connect effectively with the body and its resources. There is a treasure trove of body wisdom inside each of us. When we use this wisdom to enhance how we deliver our services, our results in practice multiply. What we give to our clients is so much more than technique. We give of ourselves, we mind our boundaries, and we nurture change.
Anastacia Metcalf Lundholm started 27 years ago as a Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) Wellness Educator, teaching and celebrating the body’s rhythms in growth and transformation. Her work has taken her to 17 countries in North America, Europe, South America, Australia and Asia. Events ranged from large healing events and classes to one-on-one sessions in chiropractic settings. She served in special projects including supporting US military veterans and Cambodian children rescued from the sex trade.

We end at 7pm every day except for Sunday. Sunday ends with a wonderful delicious lunch all together. You’ll be able to fly back home after 2:00pm.
Day 1: Gather, Connect and Explore
We get to know each other in a relaxing setting and begin exploration. The foundations of our experiences are in our mind and body. The personal iceberg metaphor assists us in tuning in to the whole person. Stage One in SRI helps us connect to what’s going on as well as find resources and increase congruence in the body. We check in with ourselves and begin to guide one another, using learned skills and finding resources of many kinds.
Day 2: Observing and Managing Reactions
Gather and start the day exploring congruence. Then learn to identify the different kinds of reactions under stress and how we can manage them as well as learn the positive aspects of these patterns. We can use the patterns congruently or reactively; knowing the difference is important. Learn how patterns of contrasts and differences show up in the body. Patterns of coping can help us hypothesize what are the best ways to make contact with our clients when they are under stress. SRI Stage Two helps us connect to opposing or differing parts, freeing up energy in the body system.
Day 3: Engaging with Change
Begin the day with embodied congruence and interaction. As facilitators of healing and change, we explore the rhythms of the change process and how to support our clients when they are feeling stuck, encountering uncertainty, or arriving at a new level of growth. Holding the space for the whole process affects us. Knowing what parts of the process you find easy to support and which ones are more challenging helps you create new ways to support yourself as your clients grow and heal. SRI Stage Three helps the brain and body recognize the energy of being stuck and find the choice point of peaceful acknowledgement or the powerful decision to move forward.
Day 4: Practice and Workshop, Reflect and Harvest
We begin this morning with another congruence practice to deepen our embodiment. Then integrate your learning into your own scope of practice in small group hands-on practice. Show yourself how creative, fun and integrative your practice can be! Experience, practice and observe- these three roles give you opportunities for maximum integration. Gather to reap the benefits of our time together and set new intentions for yourself going forward.
