Every weekend combines an on-demand theory webinar with two days of hands-on, practical training.

THE WEBINAR

Covers the neurological theory relevant to your assessment, treatment and understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders – cited with up-to-date research but built to be practical rather than textbook-heavy. Each webinar runs 5 hours, contributing 5 hours of CPD per weekend

Combine Manual Therapies with Brain Exercises to Assist Brain Development

Written for those with little or no prior knowledge of how to functionally assess a developing brain – and stimulate it through the body’s many receptors.

Practical sessions demonstrate the assessments and interventions for each primitive reflex, and the functional neurological approach for each brain region that inhibits these reflexes – with options shown suitable for babies to teens.

This is not a protocol or a method. As you progress through the seminars, they build a framework for understanding the order of brain development that you can add to your current practice: knowing what you’re testing and why, then reassessing to see the outcome of your therapies.

Course notes are extensive and structured – everything taught is in them. You and your patients will also have access to a full range of videos demonstrating the primitive reflex exercises and brain-based therapies.

What are primitive reflexes, and where in the brain are they?

What does their presence tell us about brain development?

What does the research tell us about modulating or integrating them?

How can you integrate them with, or without, manual therapy – or both?

This seminar focuses on these reflexes:

We test each in different ways depending on age and ability, then test the cortical consequence:

•Gross & fine motor coordination

CLINICAL APPLICATION

Clinical pearls for developing the foot arches, handwriting, tool use, feeding, speech and language – from passive stimulation for more severe conditions, through to combining complex cognitive tasks with sensory-motor function for more able children.

We’ll discuss Cortical Asymmetry, its implications for learning disabilities, and the many ways to stimulate and balance cortical function – plus an overview of the evidence for dietary interventions relevant to these children.
